My first sports road trip... and it won't be my last!
Last fall my son Austin and I embarked on a sports road trip. Here was the schedule:
Saturday - New York
Sunday - Jets vs Patriots, football in New Jersey
Monday - Dolphins vs Colts, Monday night football in Miami
Tuesday- Wednesday - San Juan Puerto Rico
Thursday - Friday - Dominican Republic
Saturday - Yankees vs Red Sox, baseball in New York
Sunday - Patriots vs Falcons, football in Foxborough
Tuesday - Nationals vs Mets, baseball in Washington D.C.
Thursday - Phillies vs Mets, baseball in Philadelphia, Phillies clinch Eastern Division title
Saturday - Penguins vs Rangers, hockey home opener in Pittsburgh, Stanley Cup on display.
It was Austin's idea to go on the road trip. There were 10 flights in 2 weeks plus train travel. We'd get to bed at midnight and then arise to get an early flight. It was a fast paced excursion with tons of delightful memories.
